In South Africa, the police launched tear gas and stunning granades on the students from the University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, who were there protesting against the 8% increase of the school enrolment for 2017. Students demand that education should be free for all.

Last year, massive students protests took place all over South Africa forcing the University to revert its plans of raising the year’s fee. On Thursday, at least 30 students were arrested by the Police and many were injured. The protests have forced the University to shut down its doors during the whole week. Also, the University of Cape Town remained closed on Wednesday for fear of new protest.
