The video, captured by a Gendarmerie official with a cellphone from a pickup truck, shows another official, who was part of the procedure, who was also capturing images of the events.

Argentine newspaper Infobae released a video filmed by a Gendarmerie agent last August 1, during the eviction of a land adjacent to the No. 40 national highway, where Santiago Maldonado was last seen by many accounts.

The video shows the beginning of the eviction operation, and it was filmed with a cellphone from the inside of the pickup truck that led the maneuvers.

The images provide one important piece of information for the investigation on the disappearance of Santiago Maldonado: a Gendarmerie officer on foot is pictured filming the operation in an official manner.

Gendarmerie authorities had previously stated, in an official report, that there hadn’t been “film recording by virtue of not having adequate technical equipment”.
